Pictures of recent progress ( 2021)

2-13-2021 This is what the castle looks like on the 13th of February 2021.

I did get this door on the great hall finished last year, but did not have time to post the photo at that time.

I also got this door on the great hall finished last year, but did not have time to post the photo.

About the only thing I have done so far this year is to get the last curved top piece poured. This will go on top of one of the merlins on the tower on the great hall.

5-14-2021 When I was taking Smokey out for a walk, he noticed this baby bird on the drawbridge. When he went over to sniff it, it jumped off the drawbridge into the grass. The baby bird can not fly yet. His mommy and daddy were flying around trying to scare me away, but I managed to get a photo anyway. Baby bird should be able to fly in the next day or two. There may be more babies, there is a nest high inside the gatehouse.

6-4-2021 We had a visit today from our friend Charlie Cicada. He said he is on his way to find a Cicada nightspot for a little chirping, dancing, and whatever. I think he is just looking for a hot babe Cicada. He said he had not gone for a night out for many years and was looking forward to having some fun.

7-19-2021 Last night when I tried to turn on the outside light, it was not working. Today, I went out to replace the bulb, and found our friend the tree frog sitting on the light fixture. He sure is cute.

7-22-2021 I am about to pour the concrete for the area just in front of two of the doors. This is what it looks like before pouring.

7-23-2021 This is what it looks like after pouring the concrete.

7-22-2021 I am also pouring another one of the curved pieces that goes on the last tower. I still have three more of these to do.

7-26-2021 This is what it looks like after it hardens up and I removed the form.

7-27-2021 One of our deer friends has had a new baby. Her name is spot, but every year, some of our deer friends name their kids spot. I think I know why.

7-29-2021 Three of our turkey friends stopped by today. We sometimes see them around this time of year, but we never see them around Thanksgiving. These guys are not as stupid as some people think.

7-29-2021 Also today, our friend Tommy stopped by to say hello.

9-29-2021 This is a photo of Rocky. He is our newest cat, he has been here about nine months now. To see a short

video

about how he is doing here, take a look:

10-1-2021 Today, I had three tons of blocks delivered.

10-1-2021 From out front, I needed to move them inside the courtyard near the electric hoist. Then I will need to lift them up to the roof.

10-11-2021 They will be used to top off the crenelations. For right now, they are just sitting there. If I live long enough, I will morter them in place. For now though, they will help protect the blocks from the snow and rain this winter. The merlon clostest is what it was like before placing the blocks. The merlons further away is what it will look like when I have placed all the blocks.

11-3-2021 Today we were visited by our friends Jeff and Donna. They visited us eight years ago on their anniversary. Well, it's that time of year again. Happy Anniversary Jeff and Donna. We enjoyed their visit, perhaps they will come back around their next anniversary.
