The recent Supreme Court ruling which took away our private property rights was the most important event that has happened in this country in decades. Fortunately, citizens in several states had the opportunity to vote on this important issue. In most cases, the propositions passed overwhelmingly.
I will give you the information as I know it. If you know of other states that have amendmended their constitutions, please let me know so I can add them to this list. The following states have passed amendments so far:
Louisiana -----------Passed with 55 percent of the vote.
Florida -------------- Passed with 69 percent of the vote.
South Carolina ---- Passed with 86 percent of the vote.
Georgia ------------- Passed with 83 percent of the vote.
Michigan ----------- Passed with 80 percent of the vote.
New Hampshire --- Passed with 86 percent of the vote.
North Dakota ------Passed with 68 percent of the vote
I understand that Nevada passed an amendment with 63 percent of the vote, but they need to pass it again in the next election to make it final.
I understand that Oregon passed something by 63 percent, but since it was not a constitutional amendment, we will not count it as being in the plus column.
California and Idaho had propositions on their ballots, but did not pass them. In California, the proposition got 48 percent of the vote. They will probably get another chance, and in time, it will pass. There is overwhelming support in this country to have these rights restored to the citizens. If you have politicians in your area that do not support an amendment to your state's constitution to restore your rights, vote them out of office as soon as you get the opportunity.
Please keep in mind that we want CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS, not just laws. Laws can be changed easily, and in a few years our rights could disappear again. Don't settle for anything less than an amendment to your state constitution. Or, better yet, encourage your U.S. senators and representatives to amend the U.S. constitution to restore our rights.
I have not had as much time as I would like to keep track of what's going on, but this is a link to a webpage with a lot more information.
