UNKNOWN CASTLE ??

It has come to my attention that there is a castle located just north of Waterford, Virginia. I understand that it belongs to some ladies by the name of the Brown sisters. Does anyone have any information? Is there someplace I can get a picture?

Later, I received E-Mail that said:

Last weekend my family and I went on a day long voyage for this "Castle of Mystery" and my grandfather remembered going there as a child and helping them work. We went back there and found out that the Brown sisters are deceased and the castle torn down. My grandfather said that it wasnt a "Castle" as we would think it to be just a very large home built to resemble a castle.

On 8-20-06, I received E-Mail that said:

Brown's castle in Waterford was never a castle at all -- especially now that I have seen Scott's Castle! -- but a large, Victorian house (it's turreted) that was built for four spinster daughters by their father. To my knowledge it still stands, and I talked with one of the Brown sisters not too many years ago. It was probably referred to as a "castle" by the Waterford Quakers -- in comparison to the town's more modest homes.
