STONE LOOKOUT TOWER CASTLE

During the depression of 1933-34, the city of Clinton received $3,000,000 from the government to beautify Eagle Point Park and Riverview Park. Stone Lookout Tower in Eagle Point Park was designed and built in 1937 by the WPA (Works Progress Administration). The design of the tower seems to have been inspired by the design of the Norman Fortresses of Europe. From the top of the tower, you have a panoramic view of the Mississippi River. <
