HEARST CASTLE

Hearst Castle is located in the Santa Lucia Mountains of California on a hilltop overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It's construction took nearly 28 years. It was once the home of William Randolph Hearst. After Mr. Hearst's death in 1951, it was donated to the State of California and became a State Historical Monument. Today, it is one of the states most popular visitor destinations. It is now maintained by the California Park Service.
