EXCALIBUR CASTLE

I received E-Mail that said:

There is a castle just outside of Fort Payne, Alabama. It was built by Jeff Cook of the band "Alabama" and is called Excalibur. It is a grey stone building with 4 towers, one on each corner. It is not extremely large, but it is definitely a castle.

Later, I received E-Mail that said:

I ran across this castle a year or more ago listed for sale on http://www.dupontregistry.com. I can't recall it's list price (I want to say ~$6M, but please do not quote me on that) and it has apparently sold.

On 4-11-10, I received e-mail that said:

Our local newspaper, The Huntsville Times, just had an article about Excalibur Castle.

The on-line edition includes many exterior and interior photos:

On 4-14-10, I received e-mail that said:

The Birmingham News of Friday, April 9, 2010 carried an article about Jeff Cook's castle in Fort Payne, Alabama. It was up for sale years ago but no takers at around $6 million. It is now priced at $3.9 million with 10 acres. It is bigger than a previous contributor had thought--8 bedrooms, 7 baths, ten acres come with it with another 35 acres available at more money. Thought you would like this for an update on your list of Alabama castles.
