BEACHBOUND CASTLE

Beachbound castle is on Harrison Ave. in Newport, RI.. It was built by Peabody and Stearns for William Burden, and was completed in 1895. On 4-11-05, I received E-Mail that said:

Regarding Beachbound Castle in Rhode Island: Builder William Burden (1877-1909) was a stock broker; he was married to Florence Twombly, daughter of Hamilton & Florence Vanderbilt Twombly of the mansion called Vinland in Newport, now a part of Salve Regina College. They had 2 children. The landscape architect was J.C.Olmstead. The castle is now a gated condo community.
